Weakly bound species formed from an ion and neutral. Note 1:In the context of some unimolecular ion dissociations, these complexes are particular types of transition states or local energy minima that lie between precursor ions and product ions on the reaction coordinate. Note 2: The hyphenated formulation of this term, ion-neutral complex, is deprecated; the hyphen suggests a reaction of a species that is both an ion and a molecule and is not the intended meaning.
