DRAFT DEFINITION |
High energy collision |
---|
High Energy Collisions are in the keV range and occur in sector, TOF-TOF and hybrid instruments. The ion excitation is mainly electronic and corresponds to a vertical electronic transition. Energy redistribution to vibrational energy can lead to simple bond cleavage. |
Considered between 2004 and 2006 but not included in the 2006 PAC submission |
