Resonance enhanced multiphoton ionization

Multiphoton ionization in which the ionization cross section is significantly enhanced because the energy of the incident photons is resonant with an intermediate excited state of the neutral species. Also see multiphoton ionization.

Considered between 2004 and 2006 but not included in the 2006 PAC submission
