Cationized molecule

An ion formed by the binding of a cation to a neutral molecule (M). Examples are the [M + Na]+ and [M + K]+ ions commonly observed in ESI-MS. The ambigous terms 'quasi-molecular ion' or 'pseudo-molecular ion' should be avoided.
