Nanoelectrospray
From Mass Spec Terms
| DRAFT DEFINITION |
| Nanoelectrospray |

|
This term is used to describe an electrospray interface that achieves a reduction in the sample flow rates (usually less than 100 nL min-1). The reduced flow rate is due to a narrow inner diameter of the needle tip (usually 1-3 ?????????????m) and is established automatically, dependent on the potential on the needle tip. Nanoelectrospray is often referred to as nanospray. See also electrospray ionization and microelectrospray. |
