DRAFT DEFINITION
Daly detector

A metal knob held at high potential that emits secondary electrons when ions impinge on the surface. The secondary electrons are accelerated onto a scintillator that produces light that is then detected by a photomultiplier detector.

Considered between 2004 and 2006 but not included in the 2006 PAC submission
This is an unofficial draft definition presented for information and comment.
