DRAFT DEFINITION
Protonated molecule
An ion formed by interaction of a neutral molecule with a proton and represented by the symbol [M + H]+, where M is the neutral molecule. The term 'protonated molecular ion,' 'quasi-molecular ion' and 'pseudo-molecular ion' are not recommended.
Considered between 2004 and 2006 but not included in the 2006 PAC submission
